Matt Hall


Born: May 21, 1991  Hometown: Eagle, AK 

Matt started Smokin' Ace Kennels back in 2008 and is the first second generation musher to win the Yukon Quest.  Hall is the long distance musher of the kennel and competes in highly competitive races around Alaska, including the Yukon Quest 1,000 and the Iditarod.  Matt makes the kennel go 'round, by hauling water & firewood, fixing & building everything that is needed for the off-grid 40-acre homestead--He's a jack of all trades.  Click below to learn more about this born & raised Alaskan Musher.


Amanda Brooks


Born: July 3, 1985  Hometown: MDI, ME

Amanda started working at Smokin' Ace Kennels in 2014.  She moved to Alaska from Maine in pursuit of  exploring the vast wilderness of the Last Frontier by dog team.  Brooks spends her time training the yearlings of the kennel and races them non-competitively in mid-distance races around Alaska.  She manages the social media pages, practices sled dog photography and enjoys researching Canine Sports Medicine and implementing Sled Dog Race Diet & Nutrition into their feeding program.
